The Amahlathi Municipality is situated in the Eastern Cape Province of Southern Africa. As a Category B Municipality, it covers the following clusters: Tsomo, Cathcart, King-Kei, Keiskamahoek and Stutterheim. The Municipality has spectacular views of endless undulating grasslands, valley bush, forests, waterfalls and the Amatole mountain range. This Municipality is part of Amatole District Municipality.
The Amahlathi Municipality strives for a future where constituent communities have a peaceful, stable and sustainable environment with basic needs being met through a participatory development process and where communities have access to economic opportunities.

In order to achieve its vision, the Amahlathi Municipality will
• Identify, prioritise and provide infrastructure, resources and services and co-ordinate assistance to meet the basic needs of communities in terms of available funds and priorities
• Empower Councillors and staff to perform their activities and duties effectively through training and development, institution building and capacity building.
• Promote and facilitate job creation initiatives through the provision of infrastructure and capacity building support for small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs), tourism, commerce and agriculturally related projects
• Facilitate management of the environment and ensure sustainable development
• Render quality, equitable and comprehensive agency services, which include basic infrastructure.
• Develop community, sports and recreation infrastructure.
